Aria Mia Loberti is an American actress, writer, disability rights advocate, and Fulbright recipient with a focus on ancient rhetoric. Loberti will play the lead role of ‘Marie-Laure Leblanc’ opposite Mark Ruffalo and Hugh Laurie in Netflix’s adaptation of the Pulitzer Prize winning novel ALL THE LIGHTS WE CANNOT SEE from Shawn Levy and 21 Laps. Loberti landed the role after a global search for blind and low-vision actresses. Despite no formal acting training, Loberti bested thousands of submissions to be cast in the internationally sought-after role which marks her acting debut. Loberti is a PhD candidate in ancient rhetoric in the Department of Communication Arts & Sciences at Penn State University. She received her Masters in ancient rhetoric with distinction in 2021 from Royal Holloway, University of London on a Fulbright Scholarship. Loberti’s background and the challenges she has overcome have led her to her life’s mission as an advocate for disability equity. She has presented at several large forums, including her TedX Talk in 2018, and began speaking out for disability rights at four years old. Loberti serves as the new ambassador for the organization Guide Dogs for the Blind which was previously held by the iconic Betty White. ‘All The Light We Cannot See’ Casts Newcomer Aria Mia Loberti As Female Lead – Deadline Aria Mia Loberti: The power of solidarity and silence | TED Talk
