Concordia and Public Private Strategies Institute launch “The Private Sector Promise” ahead of America’s 250th Anniversary
New nonpartisan initiative mobilizes business leaders to strengthen institutions, advance policy solutions, and shape America’s economic future.
New York, NY / Washington, D.C. [March 25, 2026] — Concordia and Public Private Strategies Institute (PPSI) today announced the launch of The Private Sector Promise: Business Leadership for America’s 250th and Beyond, a new nonpartisan initiative mobilizing businesses nationwide to advance actionable solutions to pressing policy and market challenges, drive practical reforms that modernize institutions and strengthen public-private cooperation, and elevate business and civil society leadership as the United States approaches its 250th anniversary.
Launched in alignment with the national semiquincentennial commemoration, The Private Sector Promise convenes business executives, policymakers, and civic leaders committed to civic engagement, institutional integrity, and long-term economic resilience.
As part of the launch, the initiative will host a national virtual convening on March 31 in partnership with America250, the nonpartisan United States Congressional Commission planning the 250th anniversary of the signing of the Declaration of Independence.
“The Private Sector Promise represents an important opportunity to reaffirm the role of business in strengthening institutions and economic resilience,” said Hanne LeCount, Executive Director of Concordia. “As both a conversation prompt and an action-oriented platform, it brings together diverse voices to advance pragmatic, market-led solutions. By leveraging the complementary missions and networks of Concordia and PPSI, we aim to generate forward-looking recommendations from the business community that help shape a more trusted, collaborative, and prosperous future.”
“The 250th anniversary of the United States is not only a celebration. It’s a defining moment for private sector leadership,” said Rhett Buttle, President of the Public Private Strategies Institute. “A strong democracy and a thriving economy are inseparable. The private sector has both the responsibility and the opportunity to help shape America’s next 250 years. The Private Sector Promise creates a platform for business leaders to step forward with clarity and commitment, and share policy and market ideas to ensure America continues to lead.”
Through a series of in-person and virtual convenings, The Private Sector Promise will drive coordinated action, shared learning, and public commitments from participating organizations. Insights from these discussions will inform the Building a Better Future Policy Agenda, a national report that outlines actionable market and policy recommendations to support a resilient American economy in the years to come.
The coalition is nonpartisan and open to organizations committed to advancing democratic principles, civic participation, and cross-sector collaboration.
