Hershey CEO fights hunger in Africa, preps for a busy Halloween in U.S.

In an interview with Yahoo News at the 2015 Concordia Summit, Hershey CEO J.P. Bilbrey underscores the company’s history of helping the underprivileged with new efforts in nutritional research and the development of food infrastructure in Africa. Bilbrey also discusses the strategic challenges of growing markets in China and how consumers behave in the run up to Halloween, an unsurprisingly key period for the confectionary giant.

At the 2015 Concordia Summit, Bilbrey emphasizes the importance of social responsibility, “We talk a lot about consumers having a changing relationship with food. There’s a thirst for information about who sourced it, where did it come from, who are the people that made it, can I relate to them, what’s the purpose of their company. I think it’s really positive.”
