This partnership builds up women in the local Tanzanian community to become community health educators (CHEs). Community Health Network’s CHEs empower rural community members through education about common diseases, disease prevention practices, family planning, and other health maintenance approaches. Using CHEs are community liaisons and agents for education improves community health while lowering the burden on Tanzania’s healthcare system.This ultimately contributes to their long term goal: a decrease in overall mortality and morbidity rates in Tanzania.
