At the 2025 Concordia Annual Summit, leaders from across sectors gathered to address one of the most pressing global health challenges: cardiovascular disease in rapidly growing urban environments. In partnership with Novartis Foundation, a Principal Programming Partner of the Summit, Concordia convened a diverse group of stakeholders, from policymakers and healthcare experts to technology leaders and civil society organizations. The goal of this meeting was to explore how cities can become engines of health innovation.
The discussion focused on how data, technology, and community engagement can help cities better understand the root drivers of cardiovascular health disparities and identify scalable solutions. As urban populations grow and health systems face increasing pressure, cross-sector collaboration is becoming essential to building more proactive, equitable, and resilient health systems.
These conversations informed a new report, Transforming Urban Cardiovascular Health: A Framework for Data-Driven, Community-Centered Innovation, developed following the roundtable hosted during the Summit.
The report captures key insights from this dialogue and outlines a forward-looking framework for how governments, the private sector, and civil society can work together to improve cardiovascular outcomes in cities around the world.
We invite members of the Concordia Community and partners across sectors to explore the report and join the ongoing conversation about how collaboration, innovation, and shared leadership can transform urban health.
