CONCORDIA WELCOMES THE FABIEN COUSTEAU OCEAN LEARNING CENTER AS A PROGRAMMING PARTNER FOR THE 2020 ANNUAL SUMMIT

The climate crisis is an ocean crisis. Oceans play a central role in regulating the Earth’s climate and sustaining life on our planet. With climate change causing rising acidity levels, it is becoming increasingly difficult for oceans to sustain marine organisms.

Founded in 2016, the Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center was created to empower local communities to champion ocean conservation in ways that are most meaningful to them. Their  pioneering innovation and leadership in marine research and deep-sea exploration has culminated in Project Proteus, a state of the art, underwater marine research station. Project Proteus is the next frontier of scientific discovery and for the future of humanity and the planet.

This partnership between Concordia and The Fabien Cousteau Ocean Learning Center will provide key insights into how public-private partnerships can support innovative social enterprises that can encourage environmentalism and ocean conservation.
