Concordia and U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Programming Partnership

U.S. Global Leadership Coalition joins Concordia as a 2018 Programming Partner

Concordia is partnering with U.S. Global Leadership Coalition (USGLC) this year to highlight the benefits and necessity of a strong International Affairs Budget in creating a more prosperous and secure world. The partnership will examine the importance of protecting and defending the International Affairs Budget in establishing the position of the U.S. on the global stage, as well as the need for bipartisan support.

The International Affairs Budget is a small component of the overall federal budget that has a significant impact on the lives of American citizens. American jobs, economic growth, national security, and global health are only a few areas affected by this budget. The International Affairs Budget reflects the presidential administration’s priorities and is based on certain unified strategic priorities. These include protecting the United States’ security domestically and abroad, renewing the United States’ competitive advantage for sustained economic growth and job creation, and ensuring accountability to American taxpayers.

USGLC is a Washington D.C.-based nonprofit that seeks to strengthen America’s civilian-led tools—development and diplomacy—alongside defense. By advocating for a strong International Affairs Budget, USGLC works to make America’s international affairs programs a keystone of U.S. foreign policy.

The programming partnership falls under Concordia’s Diplomacy & Defense Programming Pipeline, which focuses on issues ranging from national security challenges to peacebuilding efforts.
