Tom Achoki, MD, is a Senior Vice President of Strategy and Innovation at the AB InBev Foundation, where he leads public health projects focused on reduction of harmful alcohol use around the world. He cofounded Africa Institute for Health Policy, a research and technical advisory organization based in Nairobi, Kenya, with a focus on strengthening health systems across the Africa region.

Tom is a medical doctor and has completed a PhD from Utrecht University in the Netherlands and an MBA from the M.I.T Sloan School of Management, where he focused on finance and healthcare innovation. He did his post graduate training at the Institute of Health Metrics and Evaluation, University of Washington where he also held a faculty position.

Dr. Achoki has held roles of increasing responsibility in public health services, academic institutions, private sector organizations and corporate foundations. Most notably, he worked at the World Economic Forum as a Project Manager focused on healthcare programs; served as a senior technical advisor at the Ministry of Health in Botswana, where he advised the Permanent Secretary on data initiatives and was the Founding Director of African Initiatives at IHME. Tom is active in healthcare entrepreneurship, innovation and research with a specific focus on digital health and data analytics.
