Philip Edward “Brave” Davis is the fifth elected Prime Minister of the Commonwealth of The Bahamas and the Minister of Finance and Member of Parliament for Cat Island, Rum Cay, and San Salvador.

A former Council of Legal Education for CARICOM member, Rt. Hon. P.M. Davis has made unprecedented contributions to legal education in the Caribbean region. He twice served as Vice President of the Bar Council before becoming President of the Bahamas Bar Association in 1995.

P.M. Davis, a King’s Counsel and human rights lawyer of both local and international acclaim. His impressive record in the Court of Appeals and numerous appearances before the U.K. Privy Council have earned him recognition beyond the borders of The Bahamas.

The P.M. is an internationally recognized champion and advocate for climate justice awareness of the threat of climate change, zeroing in on Small Island and Developing States (SIDS). During P.M. Davis’ first term in parliament, he chaired the National Insurance Board, where he spearheaded a series of pivotal reforms supporting the Bahamian people. The P.M. also oversaw the Ministry of Works, including the comprehensive physical infrastructure of The Bahamas, including the operations of Bahamasair, Bahamas Power & Light and the Water & Sewerage Corporation.
