As Concordia’s Manager of Government Affairs, Thalia is the organization’s head liaison with the public sector at home and abroad. She leads engagement with the U.S. government, including the Administration, federal agencies and Congress, and manages Concordia’s relationships with foreign governments, diplomatic missions and multilateral institutions such as the EU, NATO, the GCC, and the United Nations system.
Thalia develops and oversees Concordia’s government affairs strategy. She identifies and secures senior government speakers, coordinates official delegations, and works closely with embassies, ministries and agency offices on invitations, protocol, briefings and logistics. She also advises Concordia’s leadership and programming teams on the policy landscape, preparing strategic analysis and session briefings that support constructive dialogue between government, the private sector and civil society. Previously, as an Associate on the Programming team based in London, Thalia served as Concordia’s liaison with foreign governments and multilateral institutions, strengthening diplomatic representation across the EU, NATO and beyond. She also led programming for Concordia’s European Initiative. Before that, she interned in Concordia’s Partnerships department at its New York headquarters, where she supported private sector engagement.
Thalia’s earlier work spans policy, research and law. She was a Graduate Research Fellow of the Harriman Institute for YIHR Croatia, a Policy Analyst for Pavimar S.A., a Research Assistant for UNHCR and a Legal Intern at Watson Farley & Williams LLP. She holds a Master’s degree in Human Rights Studies with a focus on International Humanitarian Law and Transatlantic Security from Columbia University in New York City, where she received an academic scholarship.
