Tanya is Executive Director at the African Leadership University. ALU is a network of tertiary institutions with operations in Rwanda, Kenya, and Mauritius.
Tanya has many years of experience in the investment, impact investment and philanthropic space having previously worked at Actis and the Omidyar Network. She started her career as an investment banker at Lehman Brothers. Post-MBA she designed and launched the Africa Enterprise Challenge Fund in Kenya for DFID and other donors. From there she joined the Omidyar Network where she focused on investments in areas such as financial inclusion and education. At Actis, she led the social impact and community outreach division.
Tanya holds an MBA from NYU Stern and a BSc in Foreign Service from Georgetown University. Her family is from Zimbabwe.
