Susana Eshleman has served as President and CEO of Children International since 2014, and during her tenure has led the organization through significant transformation to increase the organization’s global impact. In its quest to break the cycle of generational poverty, Children International provides access to health care, education, positive role models, and life skills for children and youth in Colombia, Ecuador, the Dominican Republic, Honduras, India, Guatemala, Mexico, the Philippines, Zambia and the United States.
Under Eshleman’s leadership, the organization’s programming culminates with a signature workforce development initiative, Into Employment, which equips youth with the mindset and job skills they need to become sustainably employed adults. The ripple effect is what Eshleman describes as the “multiplier of good,” as graduates of Children International go on to lift their families out of poverty and begin contributing to their local communities.
Prior to joining the nearly 90-year-old organization, Eshleman worked in the corporate sector for 16 years in various leadership roles with Hallmark. She holds an MBA from Harvard Business School, and has a bachelor’s degree in international business and management from the University of Nebraska.
