Sebastian De Los Rios, is a development economist from Colombia with advanced degrees from Los Andes University and Université Catholique de Louvain. During his 15 years professional experience he has had the chance to work in areas related to International Cooperation, development project management, environmental governance, partnership building and Sustainable Rural Development for various public agencies, multilateral organizations and NGOs in conflict ridden territories of his country. As a result of his involvement is various peacebuilding initiatives related to the implementation of the recently signed Peace Accords between the Colombian government and the Armed Revolutionary Forces of Colombia (FARC) he has learned that positive peace depends greatly on the nature of the relation between humans and their environment. He is currently a rural development consultant for The Nature Conservancy and a lecturer in international development at Los Andes University.
