Sarah Glass is the U.S. Global Development Lab Director for Special Projects. The Lab is an entity within USAID that seeks to increase the application of science, technology, innovation and partnerships to accelerate development impact. Sarah currently leads The Lab’s efforts to support USAID’s overall Ebola Response and Recovery Strategy by employing the use of digital technologies, open innovation approaches and partnerships with the private sector.

The Ebola epidemic in West Africa was unprecedented, with the fastest extensive spread of an outbreak since the 1957 influenza pandemic. We now know that better information during the crisis could have helped saved thousands of lives. Today, USAID is working with local country governments and partners to strengthen health information and communications systems within West Africa to ensure that the region is able to detect, prevent and respond to future public health threats and recover from the economic and development losses suffered during the outbreak.

Prior to joining USAID, Sarah was a Senior Manager with Accenture Strategy Consulting where she worked with corporations and governments across multiple industries on international market expansion, product innovation, strategic planning, organizational restructuring and leveraging partners to scale. Sarah also spent five years in the non-profit sector, working with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC). Sarah holds a BA from the College of William & Mary and an MBA from the Darden School of Business at the University of Virginia.
