Director, Office of Strategic Partnerships, Millennium Challenge Corporation

Sarah Crawford is Director of Strategic Partnerships at the Millennium Challenge Corporation (MCC) where she cultivates partnerships to improve education, access to public services, and women’s economic empowerment. Prior to this, Sarah was MCC’s Deputy Resident Country Director for the El Salvador Investment Compact, a $277 million investment in regulatory reforms, education, and logistical infrastructure. Additionally, Sarah was an Associate Director in Finance, Investment, and Trade where she developed and oversaw economic development programs with a focus on private sector participation, partnership, and business climate reform. Sarah is a recipient of multiple MCC awards for her work in public-private partnerships. She also co-founded MCC’s Women’s Leadership Group.

Prior to joining MCC, Sarah was a business consultant focusing on emerging market investment and international expansion strategy. She also worked at the United States Consulate General in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil and began her career working in business-to-business marketing communications in Chicago. 

Sarah holds an M.A. from American University’s School of International Service and a B.A. in political science and Spanish from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign. Sarah was a Rotary Ambassadorial Scholar to Brazil and has studied, worked, and traveled in more than 40 countries.
