Roberto Sánchez Sánchez is a telecommunications engineer from the Polytechnic University of Madrid and has extensive professional experience that includes activities in both the public and private sectors.

He is a career officer of the Higher Body of Information Systems and Technologies of the General State Administration and originally of the Corps of Senior Broadcasting and Television Engineers.

He is currently the Secretary of State for Telecommunications and Digital Infrastructures of the Ministry of Economic Affairs and Digital Transformation.

He has previously held, among others, the positions of:

General Director of Telecommunications and Information Technology at the Secretary of State for Digital Advancement of the Ministry of Economy and Business.

Director of Innovation and Promotion of the City in the Madrid City Council.

Head of the Technical Cabinet of the General Secretariat of Science, Technology, and Innovation of the Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness and previously Director of the Cabinet of the General Secretariat of Innovation.

General Director of Telecommunications and Information Technologies of the Ministry of Industry, Tourism, and Commerce.

Deputy Director-General of Competitiveness and Business Development of the Secretary of State for R + D + I (Ministry of Economy and Competitiveness)

Deputy Director-General of Telecommunications Resources Management (radio spectrum and numbering) of the General Telecommunications Directorate and previously Vocal Technology advisor of the same Directorate.

In the private sector: General Director of A-CING, SL, Technology Director of ONO, flight simulation integration engineer at CESELSA (today INDRA), Chief Support Engineer at General Electric Electromedicine.

In 1999 he was elected Engineer of the Year by the Official College of Telecommunications Engineers for his contribution to the development of the regulation that resulted in its liberalization.

In 2000, the Telecommunications Merit Plate was granted and in 2012 it was granted again.
