Rob Johnson is the Chief Executive Officer and co-founder of Acceso, a market-driven social enterprise that helps smallholder farmers grow more, sell more and earn more while improving the resilience and sustainability of local food systems. Since co-founding Acceso in Haiti in 2014, Rob has led its expansion across Latin America and the Caribbean. Today, Acceso connects tens of thousands of smallholder farmers to retailers, institutions and other buyers in local food markets, employs more than 600 people and generates nearly $30 million in annual earned revenue.
Rob has spent his career at the intersection of agriculture, social enterprise and economic development, with a focus on improving farmer livelihoods and building more sustainable agricultural systems. Before Acceso, he worked at TechnoServe in Haiti following the 2010 earthquake, leading value-chain assessments, strategy development and program implementation. He holds an MBA and an MS in Sustainable Development from HEC Paris and a BS in Architectural Engineering from the University of Colorado Boulder. From 2017 to 2025, he also developed and taught courses on social enterprise, impact and operations at Columbia SIPA and NYU Wagner.
