Rachel Uwase is a child advocate and community leader who works to support assault survivors with an emphasis on mental health and emotional restoration through the lens of intersectionality and global wellness. She currently works as the Project Coordinator for the I Am Enough program, a culturally responsive and manualized treatment intervention that aims to heal and empower Women of Color who have been affected by gun violence. Prior to joining the project, Rachel was a member of Peace Corps Philippines, where she volunteered with young girls who were survivors of commercial sex trafficking, helping to advocate for their rights and path to restoration. She is currently completing graduate studies in Non-Profit Management at DePaul University. Her hope is to open a center that offers behavioral health and trauma recovery services to young men and women who have experienced neglect and abuse.
