Mincheol (Daniel) Song is a Cognitive Science major with a Data Science Engineering minor at UCLA.
He founded the non-profit organization Voice of Calling, serving in various leadership roles such as Event Manager, Vice President of Technology, President of Operations, and currently, Chief Research Officer. Daniel has spearheaded initiatives providing educational opportunities to marginalized communities in the U.S., South Korea, and Tanzania. His work was showcased at the International Conference on Science and Technology ODA 2023.
Since 2021, Daniel has led the AtaxiaV project, presenting it at the International Congress for Ataxia Research (ICAR 2022), and is set to present SARA-Q at ICAR 2024. He achieved first place in the Congressional App Challenge, organized by Representative Ted Lieu, highlighting the collaboration between engineering and medical domains.
In parallel, Daniel leads the development of VoiceofPiece.net, a platform supporting African artists, which received funding from the Korea Industry-Academy Foundation. This project contributes to addressing economic challenges in Tanzania’s cultural and arts sectors. His research in this area was recognized at the International Conference on Energy, Aquatec, and Sustainability (ICEAS 2024), where he received the Best Presentation award.
Daniel is dedicated to democratizing computer science education and technology for underserved communities.
