Miguel Sánchez was born in Madrid in 1960. He entered the General Military Academy in Zaragoza in 1977 and later the Infantry Academy in Toledo. He graduated as Lieutenant in 1982 and was promoted to Colonel in 2009.
He has held various positions in the General State Administration, both Civil and Military, including in HM the King’s Household and the Spanish Embassies at the United Kingdom and France.
In the Spanish Intelligence Services (CESID and CNI) he held executive and managerial responsibilities in several geographic areas and in Cyberthreats and Counterterrorism units, reaching the level of General Director.
In May 2016 he joined Telefónica S.A. as Global Director of Security and Intelligence.
Since March 2022 is a Forgepoint Capital’s Advisory Council Member (a trusted network of industry leaders helping to foster the next generation of cybersecurity and cloud infrastructure companies. They collaborate to advance cybersecurity innovation globally) and also since 2022 presides the Technical Advisory Council of Securitecnia, a reference that federate more tan one thousand companies in the Spanish Security private sector.
