Miguel Coleta is currently PMI’s Sustainability Officer. He joined PMI in Portugal in 2005 and since 2008 has been based in the operations center in Lausanne, Switzerland, where he has worked on government and regulatory affairs, harm reduction, and labor issues in tobacco growing. Prior to joining PMI, he was an assistant professor at the University of Coimbra in Portugal and served one term as an elected member of the Portuguese parliament. Miguel holds a Ph.D. in phytochemistry and pharmacognosy.
