Melissa Brotz is president of Abbott Fund and vice president of Global Marketing and External Affairs at Abbott.
As vice president of Global Marketing and External Affairs at Abbott, Melissa has responsibility for corporate marketing, communications, and citizenship and sustainability. This includes leading the development of Abbott’s 2030 Sustainability Plan and collaborating with the company’s leadership team to deliver long-term impact for the many people Abbott serves – building a more sustainable business, shaping the future of healthcare and helping the greatest number of people live better and healthier.
As president of Abbott’s foundation, Abbott Fund, Melissa oversees giving and philanthropic partnerships with others to expand access to healthcare, strengthen communities worldwide, and promote science and health education.
Melissa joined Abbott in 1996 and has been involved in Abbott and Abbott Fund’s longstanding partnership with the Government of Tanzania. This unique collaboration is focused on strengthening the country’s health system and building healthier communities, from the national hospital to rural villages across the country.
