Detective Superintendent Matthew Bradford is the Director of the National Fraud Intelligence Bureau and holds the key dataset and responsibility for the link between UK victims, their crimes and a law enforcement response. As a unique role in the counter fraud landscape, Action Fraud and the NFIB hold the portfolio as the UK’s national fraud and cyber reporting centre function to understand the current fraud threat picture. A career detective, he began his career in 1997 before transferring to the City of London Police and specifically the fraud squad in 2005. He has moved through the ranks in this field by investigating, supervising and managing high profile cases to successful conclusions. Ensuring a victim centric approach and managing the competing demands through lengthy investigations, he has overseen investigations into fraudulent lawyers, organised crime groups intent on harming the most vulnerable in our society and promoted the role of the City of London Police as the UK’s National Lead Force for Fraud.
