Mateo Figueroa-Tobon is the Head of the Americas at the Real Madrid Foundation, a position he has held since July 2017. With more than 18 years of experience in sport for development, international cooperation, and corporate social responsibility, he leads the Foundation’s social and educational strategy across Latin America, the Caribbean, and the United States.
In his role, Mateo oversees a broad portfolio of programmes that use sport and education to promote social inclusion, healthy lifestyles, child protection, and the personal development of children and young people in vulnerable communities. He also leads strategic partnerships and institutional relations with governments, international organisations, corporations, foundations, and local implementing partners, coordinating complex multi-country initiatives and advancing sustainable models of social impact.
Prior to his current position, Mateo served for five years as a Project Manager at the Real Madrid Foundation, contributing to the design, implementation, and expansion of its international programmes. He has an academic background in Finance and International Relations, complemented by specialisations in Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability, and brings extensive experience at the intersection of sport, education, partnerships, and international development.
