Marilyn Waite leads the energy practice at Village Capital. She has worked across four continents in investment, public policy, and low-carbon energy. Author of Sustainability at Work, Marilyn also serves on the Board of Directors for Engineers for a Sustainable World and The Biomimicry Institute, and is a former Senior Research Fellow at Project Drawdown. She holds a Masters in Engineering for Sustainable Development from Cambridge and a BSE in Civil & Environmental Engineering from Princeton.

As a leader in impact investing, Marilyn furthers social impact and public-private partnerships. She finds, trains and invests in startups that create positive social outcomes, including cleaner air and healthy jobs. She leverages public sector funding and support, including those from foundations (such as Blackstone Charitable Foundation) and government agencies (such as SBA and DOE). Finally, she encourages others to support social impact startups through her thought leadership.
