Among other topics, she is currently focusing on widespread distrust of the political establishment in Latin America and its impact on elections. Her sectoral expertise includes energy and natural resources. Maria Luisa previously worked as a political risk analyst for an Oxford-based analysis and advisory firm, focusing on the Andean region, Central America, and Mexico. Previously she was a correspondent for Reuters, where she covered political events in Bolivia, Brazil, Chile, Ecuador, and Peru. Maria Luisa holds master’s degrees in comparative politics from the London School of Economics and Political Science (LSE) and in Latin American studies from Stanford University. She earned her bachelor’s degree in communications from the Pontificia Universidad Catolica del Peru.
