Louise is a Director and Head of Governance at Meta where she leads the team that builds innovative and strategic mechanisms that aim to embed external voices into how Meta governs its online platforms and products. Louise is also a qualified tech attorney with over 18 years’ experience in media, human rights, and online content law. In EMEA, Louise led the content legal and regulatory teams at Meta working at the cutting edge of complex online free speech and platform safety issues. In her current global role at Meta, she is focused on the ever-evolving line between regulation and self-regulatory models (such as the Oversight Board and all forms of Community Governance) and is passionate about driving responsible innovation through industry-leading content governance. Prior to life at Meta, Louise was a newspaper and broadcaster litigator in the UK for over a decade.
