Lara Setrakian is the CEO of News Deeply, an award-winning digital media startup. She spent five years as a foreign correspondent covering the Middle East for ABC News and Bloomberg Television. Lara now fuses news and technology, building content and community hubs focused on the world’s most important issues. Her first platform, Syria Deeply, launched in 2012 to bring greater attention to the Syrian civil war. Ebola Deeply launched soon after, followed by Water Deeply, Arctic Deeply, Refugees Deeply, Inclusion Hub, and the Women and Girls Hub.
TIME Magazine calls her work “The Future of News,” while Fast Company said it “outsmarts the news business.” Lara was named one of Fast Company’s “100 Most Creative People in Business” and one of Inc Magazine’s “7 Women Who Could Own the Future.”
Lara is a Young Global Leader of the World Economic Forum and a Term Member of the Council on Foreign Relations. She graduated Magna Cum Laude from Harvard University.
