Hon. Kwabena Mintah Akandoh is a Ghanaian politician, lawmaker, and public servant currently serving as the Minister of Health under President John Dramani Mahama’s administration, while also representing the Juaboso Constituency in the Western North Region as a Member of Parliament for the National Democratic Congress (NDC). He earned a B.Sc. in Statistics and Mathematics from the University of Cape Coast in 2007, an LL.B from Mountcrest University College in 2017, and an LL.M in Natural Resources Law from the University of Ghana in 2024. After working as an Assistant Director at the National Service Scheme headquarters, Akandoh entered Parliament in 2013 and served in various key roles, including Deputy Minister of Water Resources, Works and Housing and Ranking Member on the Parliamentary Select Committee on Health. Following his appointment as Minister for Health in early 2025, his key priorities have centered on advancing Universal Health Coverage, bolstering public health preparedness against epidemic outbreaks, modernizing medical infrastructure, and expanding healthcare access across rural Ghana.
