Kathryn is the Lead Energy & Climate analyst at WP Intelligence, anchoring our coverage and live convenings on the critical issues surrounding the future of energy. Kathryn brings a unique background to WP Intelligence, having been a policy analyst in the energy, transportation and science fields for the past 25 years.
She has served in senior roles in several trade associations, has taught at the University of Michigan and has a PhD in physics. Her specialty over the course of her career has been to translate complex policy and legislative issues for executive and membership audiences across the energy, climate and transportation industries. Kathryn has held top leadership roles at professional associations in the transportation, energy infrastructure, natural gas and sustainable mobility sectors. Most recently, she led her own consultancy and designed original coursework for the University of Michigan to introduce undergraduates to the technical, regulatory and societal barriers to achieving a net-zero carbon energy economy, challenging students to develop innovative solutions.
Early in her career, Kathryn worked on Capitol Hill for energy and science committees in both the House and Senate and worked on the Energy Policy Act of 2005.
