Kate Cincotta is the Co-Founder and Executive Director of Saha Global. A former aerospace engineer, Kate set out to find a simple solution to the difficult problem of getting clean water to rural villages. Through her work across West Africa, she found that again and again, the problem was not technology; it was distribution. She founded Saha in northern Ghana in 2008 to build a model for reliable, long-term water service delivery in last-mile rural communities.

Kate’s work is rooted in a simple belief: solving rural water challenges means focusing not just on access, but on reliability. Under her leadership, Saha has helped show that safe water in rural communities depends on strong service delivery, consistent maintenance, and systems people can count on every day.

Kate earned a Master of Science in Technology and Policy from MIT in 2009, where her research focused on the sustained use of water treatment technologies in Ghana’s Northern Region. She holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Virginia’s School of Engineering and Applied Science and previously worked as an associate engineer at Aerojet. An avid runner, Kate trained for many marathons on the dirt roads of northern Ghana. She now lives in New York City with her husband and three young children.
