José Francisco Aguirre is an Industrial Engineer who graduated from Universidad de los Andes, specializing in Finance and Organizational Development. He also has a certificate in Project Management and is currently pursuing a Master’s degree in Data Analytics at Universidad del Norte.
José Francisco has nearly twenty years of experience leading initiatives that combine private sector innovation and social impact in Colombia. His professional focus includes impact investing, economic development, and building institutional capacity across various sectors and regions.
He began his career in 2005 as an Associate Consultant at Compartamos con Colombia, a pioneering social consulting firm, where he eventually became Executive Director. He was instrumental in designing and launching Inversor, Colombia’s first impact investment fund, and played a vital role in developing Bavaria’s Angel Investor Network, the first of its kind in the country.
Since 2019, José Francisco has served as the Executive Director of Fundación Santo Domingo, Colombia’s leading philanthropic family foundation. In this role, he oversees strategic programs focused on education, environmental sustainability, productive inclusion and urban development. Many of the Foundation’s most recognized recent achievements and innovations are a direct result of his vision, strategic direction, and commitment to creating lasting impact.
He is a member of the Young Presidents’ Organization (YPO), co-founder of Festival Detonante, and serves several national boards. His work reflects a firm commitment to transforming Colombia’s business and social landscape through inclusive, data-driven, and impact-oriented leadership.
