Isabelle Chaquiriand is Director of Xcala, a program of the Multilateral Investment Fund (Interamerican Development Bank) to improve access to funding for entrepreneurs in Latin America and the Caribbean; and CEO & board member of ATMA, a leading plastic manufacturing company in Uruguay. The company received several government recognitions for its innovation projects and she was awarded Entrepreneur of the Year of the manufacturing industry in Uruguay in 2010 & 2011. Besides being a regular columnist in various media outlets in the region, Isabelle is a researcher in management, entrepreneurship, and angel investment. Additionally, she is the founder and President of “Corazoncitos” (little hearts), a nonprofit organization that improves the chance of survival and quality of life of children with congenital heart disease.
Isabelle received her Doctorate in Business Administration (c) from Grenoble École de Management, France; Master in Business Administration from IEEM Business School, University of Montevideo; Certified Public Accountant from Universidad de la República, Uruguay.
Isabelle is married and has 3 children.
