Hamid Asseffar is head of EMEA Sustainable & Impact Investing, leading climate finance initiatives at Invesco. Hamid has conceptualized listed and blended finance innovative sustainable solutions at Invesco and he is also overseeing business development with DFIs and IFIs globally. Prior to this role, Hamid was head of Asset Managers, ETFs & Indexed Strategies, UK. He successfully built and implemented a strategy that helped drive Invesco’s European ETF business’ significant growth from $21bn to $100bn over 5 years including launching many key and innovative ETFs in partnership with key UK financial institutions.
Hamid brings his expertise and experience in raising capital, building strategic partnerships, designing, and implementing strategies and he joined from Amundi in London. He also worked for Credit Suisse in London and Société Générale Gestion and Amundi in Paris. Hamid graduated from EDHEC Business School and holds the CFA ESG certificate and he is Certified Financial Technician (CFTe) with a diploma from the Society of Technical Analysts (STA) and sits on a number of Technical Advisory Groups to help scale up investment solutions targeting the Global South.
