George Guimaraes is PCI’s President and Chief Executive Officer. He leads PCI’s efforts in sixteen countries to partner with the poorest and most vulnerable communities in the world to prevent disease, improve health, and promote sustainable development.  Last year, PCI impacted the lives of more than 8 million people around the world.

Since he joined PCI in 2003, the organization has expanded in Africa, Asia and the Americas, fueled by its food and livelihood security, HIV/AIDS, and humanitarian assistance programming, and has more than tripled its financial support.

Prior to joining PCI, Mr. Guimaraes was Vice President of Global Marketing for Save the Children in Westport, Connecticut for more than five years, leading development of their marketing and communications strategies.

Before working in the non-profit sector, Mr. Guimaraes held executive positions for global communications companies in a career spanning 30 years, including President and CEO of Campbell Mithun Esty NY, a division of Saatchi & Saatchi; President and CEO of Publicis Bloom NY; Vice Chairman and Regional Director of Young & Rubicam, and President of Ketchum Advertising, Washington, DC, and Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania.

He is a graduate of Northwestern University.
