Genevieve “Genna” Gent brings nearly 20 years of experience in Government Relations and Communications to the McDonald’s Global Government Relations & Public Policy team. She and the U.S. Government Relations Team (USGR) represent the system before Congress, the Executive Branch, state and local governments, and third-party organizations including trade associations, think tanks, and policy development councils to ensure that state and federal policy-making advances McDonald’s business goals. She served a similar role for at the American Beverage Association, managing public affairs campaigns and representing the public policy interests of the American non-alcoholic beverage industry.

Previously, Genna was the longest-serving member of then Michigan Governor Jennifer Granholm’s Attorney General and Gubernatorial administrations, serving as speechwriter, campaign communications director, Deputy Chief of Staff for Communications and head of the state’s Washington, DC office. She worked briefly in the private public relations sector, as well, providing public relations counsel to corporate clients in Michigan and the Midwest.

A runner and aspiring “foodie,” Genna graduated from Kalamazoo College in Kalamazoo, Michigan and lives in Arlington, Virginia with her husband and two children.
