Mr. Scott is Chairman of the Center for Global Development and Executive Chairman of Tyton BioEnergy Systems. He is an experienced business executive, former executive in the US Government, and an active supporter of a number of philanthropic initiatives. Mr. Scott was formerly a co-founder and President of BEA Systems and a major individual investor and board member for StubHub prior to its acquisition by eBay in 2007. He is an investor in numerous commercial ventures and has founded numerous NGOs including the Center for Global Development, Friends of the Global Fight Against AIDS, Tuberculosis, and Malaria, and the Center for Interfaith Action on Global Poverty. Mr. Scott was formerly an Assistant Secretary of Transportation and Deputy Assistant Attorney General in the United States Government. He received a BA and MA from Michigan State University, an additional BA from the University of Oxford, and an honorary doctorate from the Florida Institute of Technology.
