Edouard Matitia-Cohen is the Chief Operating Officer and Management Committee Member of Covalis Capital Management, a global alternatives asset management firm, focused on energy, utilities, power generation and infrastructure sectors, investing across private and public markets. In his role, he is responsible for the firm operations and infrastructure across their global businesses. Prior to joining Covalis Capital Management, Matitia-Cohen was a senior strategic advisor to Boxer Capital Management, a full life-cycle private biotechnology investment management firm that invests in targeted oncology, immunology and genetic inherited disorders. Prior to joining Boxer Capital Management, Mr. Matitia-Cohen was a senior Managing Director at Bank of America for over eleven years, most recently as Global Head of Equity Prime Brokerage and Financing Distribution, in New York. Priorly to joining Bank of America, Mr. Matitia-Cohen was the European Head of Equity Derivatives and Convertibles Bonds at Credit Suisse, based in London. He was a member of Credit Suisse’s European Equity Management Committee and Global Equity Management Committee. Previously, Mr. Matitia-Cohen worked at Morgan Stanley for over 11 years and held various roles including the Head of U.S. Capital Structure and Special Situations business in New York. Mr. Matitia-Cohen has over twenty-five years of global financial markets experience, across a wide variety of sectors and investments products. In that capacity, he has advised a wide variety of investors, CIOs and COO’s globally at Asset Managers, Pension Funds, Family Offices and Sovereign Wealth Funds, in a variety of areas such as capital formation, growth strategies, global regulatory frameworks, business development, operational and compliance, investing across global markets such as Foreign Exchange, Government Bonds, Mortgages, Corporate Debt, Commodities and Equities. He holds a B.A (Hons) in economics from ICADE University in Madrid and Ecole Supérieure de Commerce in Reims, France. Mr. Matitia-Cohen has served on a variety of boards in multiple capacities across leading organizations in several fields. Most recently, he was a Board member of the MFA – The Managed Fund Association – the leading industry organization representing Alternatives Asset Managers and Hedge Fund Managers in D.C. He is currently a Board Member of the Institute for the Study of War (ISW) a non-partisan public policy and national security research organization, in DC.
