Luisa as Senior Managing Director for Latin America is Medley’s Head of Latin America, with a special focus on Mexico, Venezuela and Colombia and region-wide energy policy. She joined MGA from Barclays Capital where she was a macro strategist for the Andean Region and Argentina at the Emerging Markets Fixed Income Desk based in New York. Luisa has also worked for the Japan Bank for International Cooperation as the Senior Economist for Latin America and at the French Bank Societe Generale in Paris, where she was the economist for the Middle East/North Africa and Turkey and, later, as the Latin American economist analyzing sovereign risk. She is currently a Fellow at Columbia University’s Center on Global Energy Policy and a visiting professor at the Center for Energy Studies at IESA’s MBA School in Caracas, Venezuela. Venezuela-born, she has a Master’s degree in International Affairs from Columbia University and holds a Ph.D. from The Johns Hopkins School of Advanced International Studies (SAIS).
