Dr. Jarrell is CEO of Modular Genetics, Inc., a biotechnology company located in Woburn, Massachusetts. He is a co‐founder of the company and is a member of Modular’s Board of Directors. He is a named inventor on all of the company’s issued patents. Kevin received his Ph.D. from The Ohio State University where he conducted research on autocatalytic intron splicing. His postdoctoral research was in the area of gene regulation with Dr. Matthew Meselson at Harvard University in Cambridge, Massachusetts. Kevin and his team developed Modular’s automated technology for gene engineering and microbial strain engineering while he was a faculty member at Boston University. He is Co-chair of the BIO Organization Synthetic Biology Working Group. Kevin is a voting member of the Nation Biodefense Science Board.
