Dr Christopher Austin, AWS Healthcare – Speaker Bio Dr Christopher Austin is the International Clinical Lead for Academic Medicine, Research Organizations and Hospitals with Amazon Web Services (AWS), supporting academic medical centers, health research organizations, and hospitals around the world to leverage the power of AWS technologies to accelerate clinical research and innovation, and drive person centred care through the digitization and utilization of healthcare data. Dr Austin is a UK trained radiologist, epidemiologist, strategist and innovator, with over 20 years of global clinical and industry experience in digital transformation, clinical informatics and medical imaging AI. A dual UK/US national, he has served as Medical Director with GE Healthcare and more recently as Chief Medical Officer with Kheiron Medical Technologies, working with leading academic medical centers and hospitals to develop, evaluate, and deploy novel digital technologies. Dr Austin is a recognized thought leader in health technologies, with contributions to articles in Fast Company, Dot Med, AIMed and Aunt Minnie. Christopher is a medical graduate of the University of Glasgow, Scotland, and trained in radiology at University College London Hospital. He also holds an MSc in Infectious Disease Epidemiology from the London School of Hygiene and Tropical Medicine. Based in Seattle, Dr Austin spends his free time hiking and skiing with family and friends, and being an amateur barista.
