Catherine Shari, M.D., MMed, is an emergency physician and the United States Embassy Physician in Tanzania. She is an honorary lecturer at Muhimbili National Hospital (MNH) and Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (MUHAS), and an NIH-Fogarty Global Health Alumni from the University of California San Francisco (UCSF).
Prior to joining the U.S. Mission, Dr. Shari graduated from the MUHAS Emergency Medicine Residency Program and served as the Head of the Emergency Medicine department at the MUHAS Academic Medical Centre. Her research interests include pediatric global health, trauma, and health education.
