Dr. Azhar Rana is a physician and entrepreneur with more than a decade of leadership experience across the pharmaceutical industry. After training in Internal Medicine in the United Kingdom, Dr. Rana joined the pharmaceutical industry in 2006 and was a part of the development, launch, and life cycle management of a number of novel therapeutics, while leading and collaborating with global scientific teams. In 2016 Dr. Rana established the North American organization for a globally-recognized medical communications agency supporting pharmaceutical, biotech and medical device companies in communicating science to different audiences, at different stages of drug and device development. Dr. Rana is now the Chief Medical Officer for a Canadian biotech company that is determined to solve some of the worlds health problems through innovation and technology. He has moderated numerous scientific discussions between health care professionals, the pharmaceutical industry and patients, and brings a wealth of experience across a number of therapeutic areas. Dr. Rana completed his medical degree at the Aga Khan University and holds a certification in medicinal plants from Cornell University.
