David Urbanek

David Urbanek serves as executive vice president, Manufacturing and Quality for Elanco. He and his team have led the company in rightsizing Elanco’s manufacturing footprint and centralizing resources. David brings over 30 years of experience in key roles within Eli Lilly & Company and Elanco where he has led pharmaceutical manufacturing in both drug product and bulk manufacturing. David joined Elanco as vice president of animal health manufacturing in February 2017. Before joining Elanco, he held leadership roles in Lilly’s manufacturing division, including senior director of emerging markets manufacturing, senior director of global diabetes manufacturing and senior director of external drug products operations. Prior to those roles, David was the general manager of operations for Lilly divisions in Ireland, England, Germany and the U.S. David received his bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering from the Rose-Hulman Institute of Technology and obtained his Master of Business Administration from Indiana University.
