Cyrus M. Copeland is the founder and Executive Director of Treedom for Palestine, a nonprofit building climate-smart “Freedom Farms” — olive groves, drip irrigation, and protective fencing — for vulnerable families in the West Bank. Half of Treedom’s farms are planted for women, and today there are over 85 farms across 200+ acres of restored land in the West Bank offering Palestinian families a safe way to stay and thrive. Treedom holds UNCCD accreditation and has been profiled by the Associated Press, Earth Island Journal, and NBC News.
Cyrus is also the author of Off the Radar (Penguin), winner of the Chautauqua Prize, as well as three other books.
He was educated at Haverford College, Villanova, and Cornell (MBA).
