Lorena is a chemical engineer from Universidad Nacional de Colombia and hold a master’s degree in Innovation and Technology Management from University of Bath (UK). She has +11 years of accumulated experience in the industrial sector and in consultancy of circular economy projects.
Her master’s dissertation focused on understanding the opportunities and challenges to transition towards a Circular Economy in low and middle-income countries such as Colombia given the specific regional conditions, such as development gaps in innovation, infrastructure and a large informal sector involved in recycling, repairing and maintenance activities.
Since 2017, She’s been working as a consultant in sustainability and circular economy projects with both private and governmental organizations. She contributed with a chapter of the book “The Circular Economy and the Global South” and wrote a circular economy guide for businesses published by Colombia Productiva “Circular Economy: a new way of doing sustainable business”. Her mission is to help different organizations to make the transition towards circular economy creating beneficial business models for the environment and society.
