Remarks: Ambassador Katherine Tai, U.S. Trade Representative
Speaker:
Hon. Katherine Tai, U.S. Trade Representative
Key takeaways & next steps:
Resilience in North American trade has been a large development for the government, with the creation of the United States – Mexico – Canada Agreement (USMCA) creating trilateral bodies to enhance coordination and maintain trade flow.
Following Ambassador Tai’s meetings with civil leaders and stakeholders in Brazil, the Biden Administration is interested in strengthening relations between the U.S. and Brazil through the common interests of the environment, labor, and trade.
In January, Ambassador Tai assisted with the launch of the Americas Partnership for Economic Prosperity, a worker-centered trade policy that leverages cooperation in order to build economies from the bottom up.
“We are upgrading our existing relationships, not only for today but for our collective success and resilience tomorrow.”
Hon. Katherine Tai
