Concordia is excited to announce the appointment of Andrew N. Liveris, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company, to the Concordia Leadership Council. Mr. Liveris brings 40 years of private sector experience to the Concordia community. During more than a decade as a Fortune 50 CEO, Andrew Liveris has led Dow’s transformation from a commodity-based, cyclical chemicals manufacturer into a global technology company growing at the intersections of the sciences. Today, Dow leverages innovation and integration to address global needs and create differentiated, high-value solutions for customers and society in approximately 180 countries. Mr. Liveris serves on the Board of Directors of IBM, is Vice Chair of the Business Roundtable, and is an Executive Committee Member and Past Chairman of the U.S. Business Council. He is a member of the U.S. President’s Export Council, the Australian government’s Industry Growth Centres Advisory Committee, and the Board of Trustees of the United States Council for International Business. Mr. Liveris’ philanthropic activities include serving on the Board of Trustees for the Herbert H. and Grace A. Dow Foundation and the California Institute of Technology, and he is the Co-founder and Chairman of The Hellenic Initiative.

“At a time when markets, consumers – and the world at large – seem to demand instant results, leaders must think and act at the ‘speed of live’. But, in so doing, they also have a responsibility not to lose sight of the long term. I am honored to join Concordia and the esteemed global leaders on their Leadership Council in applying this short-cycle, long-cycle approach to persistent global challenges, from talent development to sustainable growth. At the critical intersection of business, government and civil society, I look forward to working with my fellow Council members to promote promising partnerships and solutions.” Andrew N. Liveris, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of The Dow Chemical Company

Concordia Co-Founders Nicholas Logothetis and Matthew Swift, along with the Leadership Council, welcome Mr. Liveris: “Concordia is very excited that Andrew Liveris has decided to join the Leadership Council. Throughout his career, he has demonstrated true leadership in creating innovative solutions to help solve some of the world’s most pressing development issues. His knowledge and expertise will be invaluable to Concordia as we continue to promote the value of public-private partnerships.”
